Home Based Business Communications

Communication options for a home based business can be divided into two written and verbal. Written communications include offline methods such as writing letters, posters and using sizzle or business cards.. Online methods include emails and classified ads. Verbal communications are often neglected but form a very important way of promoting a home based business.

Why home based business owners shun the telephone is a mystery it is probably the most important marketing tool for any business. When you meet people offline one popular question is what do you do, and the home business owner is only to pleased to market his business. The same business owner will often forget to put a contact number on email communication or if they do they never answer the phone

I call it phone phobia, now don’t get me wrong you can get nuisance calls but you need to find a way to deal with them. If you do not have an answering system you can make use of the services of a company such as E-voice, which will record the call and send to a message when someone has called.

If you are advertising and running a work at business you should expect to get calls, If you do not like talking to people on the phone you either have to learn to like it or look for another business.

There is perhaps one reason why home based business owners do not list their telephone number and that is because they are not serious and expect to be moving on the something else next month.

Less understandable are the people who advertise a business and use a number that comes up as not available or disconnected.

To build a successful home based business takes time and you need to spend a minimum of six months working to build any online opportunity.
