Leads for Work at Home Business

leads are the lifeblood of any online business and over the years Internet Guru’s have been telling people about the importance of having a list. Every new online business owner has this
problem and the standard answer has been start with friends and family and then work onto people you meet.

The last people in the world you want to start your business with is family and friends, in fact many corporate companies frown upon the practise of having family members working together.

You do not want people to join your business because they are sorry for you which frieds and family may be inclined to do. Your business must be able to stand on its feet from day one

The next option put forward is to purchase leads, the question is how do you know that these people would have the slightest interest in you business. The sad fact is that many of these so called leads have been added to lists without their knowledge, or as a result of a survey where they get free gifts or coupons.

The best way to build a list is to develop leads yourself by advertising your product or service. You need to have a method of capturing names and email address at the minimum. You do this by making a small capture page which contains a subscription box. The capture page should offer something for free, a product or service such as an e-book or free website.

The simplest subscription form will just send the subscribers name and email to you via email. A more sophisticated one will send their details to an auto responder.

The result however is the same. You have added their name to your list.

The next step is to get your advert/capture page seen. You can use traffic exchanges these work by paying surfers in the form of credits to look at your website or page and this is why a small page is best as they have to view the page for a minimum amount of time 20-30 seconds. The more credits a surfer collects the more often his advert will be viewed.

Traffic exchanges are all right in theory however in practice what happens is that surfers tend to open up multiple browsing windows and click from one to another never reading the adverts. To combat this it is best to include sound on your capture page to attract attention and you may be lucky

Safe lists, worked at one time but once again more people are selling than buying.

FFA’s are one of the easiest ways to collect leads, if you own or share an FFA. Anyone who wishes to place an advert has to provide you with their name and email. The usual rule is that you can send them one email in reply, so what you do with this kind of lead is send out a verification mail from an auto responder, if they verify their subscription they are added to you list. I usually average a 1-2% subscription rate and I use this at may main method of adding leads.

One way you can enhance your business is my using a blaster such as Leadsomatic, this can send out your adverts to up to 2Billion FFA’s, websites and list. One advantage of Leadsomatic is that it has a secondary function of submitting your site to search engines and also checking the ranking of your website.
